The "MURUROA NUCLEAR VETERANS GROUP "

44 YEARS & STILL WAITING

1973 - 2017

Started by a group of Veterans that have been battling Illness and bureaucracy for many years and seeing NO progress in the battle to achieve recognition as VICTIMS or support in their HEALTH issues.

Some watching their Children & Grandchildren suffer similar and in some case worse ill health than themselves.

The Time Has Come for These Sailors and their Families , in some cases 4  Generations, to be HELPED and recognised as NUCLEAR TESTING VICTIMS.

Over 650  Men on 2 NZ Frigates and 1 Australian Tanker represented NEW ZEALAND & took the protest to the French Government .

We seek to have the Government firstly recognise that these Men were sent to an "Operational Zone" on their Tour of Duty. This is to include the Crew of HMAS SUPPLY as being part of the NZ OPERATION.

That the Government implement a Study Testing Regime for the Families , their children and future generations to conclusively determine the relationship between the Crews exposure to Ionised Radiation, the ingestion of radiated water and  the Ill health being suffer by these Men and their families.

That the Government revise the "Presumtive List" of illness that apply to Nuclear Veterans by a duly appointed review board that includes representation of Veterans to that board .

We will be compiling and negotiating other points but our main concern at present is the Health and Well being of our Men their Families. and Future Generations.

"Is it too much to ask that NEW ZEALAND now recognise & support ALL these men and their future generations"

"We used desalinated water on these ships for cooking , drinking and washing with ................. desalinated from

RADIO ACTIVE WATER FROM THE SEA AT MURUROA"

OUR SIMPLE REQUEST

"WE DID THE JOB - WE DID OUR TOUR OF DUTY"

NOW PAY THE BILL

"LEST WE FORGET OUR SHIPMATES AND DESCENDANTS THAT HAVE GONE BEFORE US"

The Mururoa Nuclear Veterans Group aims to protect and assist all victims of nuclear testing, obtaining, by all legal means at its disposal, the right to information about the consequences of involvement in nuclear testing programs, health, access to radiological and medical records, the right to pensions, compensation and Duty of Care.

- To respond to the administrative authorities and support the cause of its members and their families who want it.

To fulfil its mission, the Mururoa Nuclear Veterans Group seek the assistance of lawyers, scientists, doctors and journalists willing to give it their support.
